WP1 will review the international literature in the police science and related fields concerning the theory and practice of community policing. It will identify the different approaches to community policing, including the integration of new Internet communication technologies, and analyse their strengths and weaknesses. It will then identify any gaps as they relate to the INSPEC2T approach. Deliverables of WP1 are:

WP2 will review and record any issues related to community policing, with respect to ethical, societal, cultural and legal aspects, as well as any security and privacy considerations. Deliverables of WP2 are:

WP3: INSPEC2T framework (tools, procedures and approaches)
WP3 will draw upon the findings and the final reports of WP1 & WP2 in order to form the basis for WP3, system design and architecture. The INSPEC2T project intends to design, develop and test a set of technology applications designed to enhance community policing activities. Deliverables of WP3 are:
1) 2nd Stakeholder Advisory Group meeting report [May 2016]
WP4 will build upon the design and review process from WP3, to develop the total technology system including: content management system and database-warehouse; mobile application; public and secure portal; interfacing to external systems and media; training module and serious game and a number of other necessary back-end modules. Deliverables of WP4 are:
1) Delivery of the mobile application and documentation [November 2016 and October 2017]
2) Delivery of the training module and documentation [August 2016, February 2017 and October 2017]
WP5 concentrates on the project’s test cases. A specific number of EU municipalities and respective law enforcement agencies will test the project’s technological tools, in order to evaluate their functionality and assess their effectiveness on community policing and community safety perception. Test cases will include community involvement activities, training and monitoring of the implementation process.
WP6 is designed to maximise the quality of the results of INSPEC2T . The WP will set quantitative and qualitative quality levels or norms for relevant measurement variables. A ‘maturity model for community policing’ will be developed, based on the relevant input variables and performance levels established and the test cases will be assessed. The work package will culminate with producing a Next Generation Community Policing Roadmap.
WP7 is designed to ensure a comprehensive dissemination of the project’s activities. Publicity and information provision activities will undertaken, directed to the law enforcement agencies and their communities, describing the project’s objectives and outcomes, encouraging participation and providing guidance for both interacting with the project and accessing the deliverables and activities.
WP8 is focused on providing support to the consortium, monitoring activities and ensuring timely delivery of project outputs throughout the duration of the project. The work will be supported by the KEMEA working team that has participated in the smooth and effective project management of more than 60 projects funded from EU, national sources and the private sector.
