External Events

  • On 3-4 May 2017, the INSPEC2T Project was presented at the European Network of Law Enforcement Technology Services (ENLETS) – 17th Meeting of the ENLETS Mobile Working Group, which was held in Athens Greece under the co-organization of the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) and the Hellenic Police. The project Coordinator Dr. George Leventakis presented the INSPEC 2T solution at the ENLETS Mobile Working Group to an audience of 75 high ranking police officers from across the EU.   • On 1 May 2017, the INSPEC2T Project was presented at the GlobalTech City event in Amsterdam by Gohar Sargsyan from CGI. The press release on this event is available here.

  • The Valencia Local Police (PLV) was one of the LEAs invited to speak at the 20th European Police Congress hosted in Berlin on February 21st and 22nd 2017. PLV was invited to participate in the “Smart Policing” Panel session that took place on February 21st and which gathered an estimated audience of 400 participants, mainly comprising of LEAs and members of the Security Industry. INSPEC2T was presented as an example of smart policing in Europe.See the press release here for further details.

  • On 15th September 2016, a representative from KEMEA, George Kokkinis presented the INSPEC2T project at the Social Media and Community Policing Conference, hosted in the University of Applied Science for Public Administration and Administration of Justice in Bavaria, Germany. The event, held outside Munich, brought together the UNITY Consortium Partners (organisers), and representatives from other projects funded under the same FCT-14-2014 topic (INSPEC2T, TRILION and CITYCOP). EU research projects Athena and Nexes which both utilized social media were also presented, alongside other social media related initiatives from Thames Valley Police, and West Yorkshire for Innovation (WyFI), and Bluelight. In total 40 Community Policing stakeholders attended the conference. See the press release here for further details.

  • On 5th September 2016, representatives from KEMEA, INTRASOFT, and Lancashire Constabulary presented the INSPEC2T project at the TRILLION project’s 5th General Assembly. The event held at the Technological University of Piraeus, Athens, Greece brought together 25 Consortium Partners from 8 countries. See the press release here for further details.

  • The INSPEC2T Project was presented at Security and Policing 2016 in Farnborough, UK. The project saw notable interest from a wide range of Law Enforcement Stakeholders from the UK and internationally, ranging from Europe, Asia, Australia, US and Africa. This interest was in addition to personal briefings to the Home Office Permanent Secretary Mark Sedwill, The Director General of Home Office Crime and Policing Group Mary Calam, senior Foreign and Commonwealth Office and UK Border agency Officials, as well as the UK Chief Inspector of Constabulary Sir Tom Winsor and the CAST Head of Unit Professor Andy Bell.The project was hosted in Government Zone Area, by Detective Superintendent Jon Betts from Home Office Science – Centre for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) and Inspector Susan Swift from Lancashire Constabulary. George Kokkinis from KEMEA – Center for Security Studies and Dr Gohar Sargsyan from CGI were also present, participating in face to face project presentations and answering questions.

 

  • Gohar Sargsyan of CGI presented the INSPEC2T Project at the Smart Cities event in Montreal on 23 October 2015. For further details see the press release here.

 

 

 

  • CGI sponsored the CCR Summit for Public Safety and Security, which took place at the Bovendonk Conference Center in the Netherlands from 30 September – 1 October. See the press release here for further details.

 

 

  • Thordis Sveinsdottir of Trilateral Research & Consulting attended a launch and networking session for the Unity project in Wakefield, West Yorkshire on 24 June 2015. The Unity project is co-ordinated by WiFi (West Yorkshire for Innovation), West Yorkshire Police and is funded under the same FCT-14-2014 as INSPEC2T.
